Later this winter, February 14-21, 2009, about 40 people from Crossroads will be heading to Mumbai, India. Mumbai is the third largest city in the world. Our partners in Mumbai have been working relentlessly to bring justice and rescue to girls who are trapped in one of the most egregious forms of modern day slavery. From afar, we have provided financial support, prayed for rescue, gathered care packages to send and hosted the heroes who have been working on the front lines to rescue girls from forced prostitution. Now, we are going to Mumbai to bestow love on these girls, remind them of their beauty and bring them hope.
We’ll be joining our partners in their efforts to bring healing and restoration in the lives of these rescued girls. While in Mumbai, India our group will be able to create art with rescued girls; clean, landscape and paint the aftercare homes in which they live; and most importantly, build relationships with our partners and the girls they serve.
